Thanks to you and your wonderful guest, Lou. What an episode!
Superb vehicle and segment, Lou. That car is exceptional. Its great that you have a number of car enthusiasts like Ed, who make such special automobiles available to your viewers. Thank you for sharing and have a great weekend. Please thank Ed and I wish him continued success with his Cadillac.
Now, I have always been a huge fan of the 60s and 70s muscle era, but there is no denying the beauty of this era. Especially the Caddies. Even being pre-fin, it just grabs your attention. Great example of a very nice, low milage, original. Also, once again you made me jealous by being able to experience driving such a great classic. Ed is a great guy for allowing you the chance. Thank you for sharing with us Lou. Take care.
I think you know my taste by now Lou - this one gave me heart palpitations! LOL I love these '40's art-deco fastback cars. The Cadillacs are the most impressive. The car is in such fine condition and the shades of gray suit it so well. It gives it a reserved dignity. As you pointed out, I love all the little artful touches they did with cars of this period. It's something that's forgotten today.
What an amazing work of art.
Love the torpedo shape of the rear, amazing how rudimentary the trunk is, trunk crest is very jewel like. Definitely a car with an attitude! Pontoon fenders really stand out! Egg crate grille very cool! Car reminds me of Art Deco detailing and it’s powered by V8. Another home run Lou!
Beautiful Cadillac Lou. Great Trunk Treats. The “proto-wings” are a definitely the start of what would be an iconic automotive trend.
A true Cadillac in the grandest sense! Mr. Winkler has a unique collection and he is very knowledgeable, too. What a treat for us all. Thanks, Lou!
Beautiful car Lou. Lots of chrome details designed into this Caddy. That flathead has a wonderful rumble. And you got to drive it......
Why Lou? Why do you persist in torturing us mere mortals with your carefree dalliances with these flawless classics?
What truly wonderful proportions! The colour, the engine, that HOOD ornament! Just so many amazing details. I would have just the fuel pump on my mantle piece! What a time to live in, where machines were still industrial, but the sensibilities of streamlining and smoothness had well and truly seeped into the metal. Like the old Fleischer cartoons when cars were depicted, you almost expect the car to squash down or ooze around with speed and cornering. Thank you for uploading.
Ed - greetings from Hong Kong. that is a really amazing car sir. 47 Cads = very cool. love the paint too. well done, so special. Thanks as always Lou for the outstanding coverage/post.
Hi Lou, how are you doing? Thank you, for one more masterpiece video! Wow! This car is a real asset! It was born in 1947! Unbelievable, how many life events vent through this legendary car! And Ed is taking care of it very well! A beautiful classic car!
Hi, Lou! Ah, the wonders of the Grand Canyon State seen through the windows of a fastback Cadillac! I could tell just how relaxed you and Ed were as you took us along for this ride, and I think that's just what Cadillac intended. Standard of the World, as it was called back then!
Great car and great car story. You're a lucky man, Lou, to be able to drive this beauty. Thanks for the video. Appreciate it.
What an exceptionally beautiful example of Cadillac history! It might be an idea to take still images of all the cars that you have so beautifully video logged, and create calendars! Absolutely stunning!
I can almost hear the 1947 style music watching this. The color reminds me of War times.. maybe an elite general would have picked this car. My oldest brother was born Christmas eve 1947, the dude is still working full time operating logging equipment, he cant seem to give it up. He always was a cant sit long kind of guy. lol, dragging me around with him in the woods as a kid being the boss man, and me the slave. haha.
All of the GM divisions has those BEAUTIFUL “fastback”
Lou, what an impressive Caddy from 47 ! Love the "sleek" styling of this car. Thanks Ed ,and Lou !thumbs up! !!
Thanks again Lou! Nice job here. And I have to say that I love the Blessed Mother Dashboard Statue.
