Great, can you also upload an instruction video on how to summarize and winterize this machine. I got the same one.
Hello Tony,
I like that 26" 208cc
There is a sticker on front of control box it says chute functions well there’s a light housing behind that let’s figure out next step to get light in
208cc is appropriately 6 HP
Hey there a spot for a light under the word craftsman by hand controls if you on the underside and it looks like the plate comes off on the front I just found it 2 years later any idea on that I would like to wire up I don’t know if there’s a kit
If you own one of these be ready for that RIDICULOUS plastic chute control to break. It's only a matter of time.
208cc is about 5-6hp, not 9
When you have a problem with the power steering let me know. I have dealt with 2 out of the 2 machines I have seen with this steering system having problems which is the result of them not putting enough grease in the differential. This is contained in the hump between the underbody and each tire/rim. I suggest pulling them apart and greasing them up before you have a problem. They are too cheap to to grease them properly from the factory. OH, and by the way, your throwing could be improved greatly. You need to put in an impeller kit. My email is ariip@msn.com Of course you know we are talking about mtd who makes crapsman, yard man, yard machines, mtd, bolens, white, troy bilt, cub cadet, and even some toro equipment sold only at home depot. I got rid of a 10/30 (they called it 9.5 29) bolens which is the same as yours with heated handgrips, steering, joystick etc because they are junk Even though I got it almost new for 300 and it was a 1200 dollar machine. I sold it for 800 a few years later after adding a 12v starter and batteries, and fixing a deflector cable issue which was a flawed design. Also the single handle control metal piece under the left lever breaks easily and you loose single handle ability which I fixed also. Another poor design. I bought and still kept extra single control parts, steering handles (which are plastic) and belts etc. I would rather use my snapper 1030s from the late 90s to early 2000. I got them for 300 and 500 respectively. They perform better and are better made like tanks. I put impeller kits in all machines. My bolens (same as your machine) with the kit, threw twice as far and threw slush and water.
like everyone else says not 8 or 9 hp. get real. only 6hp. You should have bought a MDT 243cc 26" thats 8 hp.
Mine won't even start after the First year of use and only two snow falls on the first year of use. This is the beggining of the second year of use and this crappy snowblower won't start. Seems a large majority of people who own these snowblower are having this issue :o/ "Sear Reviews" No wonder Sears Is done.
